‘Feeling Fine on Film’ is a collection of 10 short films originally commissioned by the Durham Dales PCT and Health Development Partnership Group and produced by Teeny Tiny Films. It was the culmination of a year’s work during which nearly 150 young people engaged with the process of filmmaking to create a positive message about the kinds of activities that they get involved in.
The project aimed to help young people with a story to tell to get their message across on film. Along the way the young people picked up filmmaking skills that, in this increasingly visual digital age, should be useful to them whatever they do in the future.
The young people themselves were involved at every stage of the process, from planning the content of the films to doing much if not all of the camera work, and many of the films have had youth involvement in the editing.
The films were all premiered at a big screen red carpet event in Mickleton Village cinema club 22nd June 2007. The DVD was distributed to all schools in the Durham Dales as well as to all the young people involved. A number of the films have gone on to have useful lives separately from their existence on the compilation.

Staindrop College of Business and Enterprise made a very funny but thought-provoking film about their award winning mentoring scheme. The film highlights the training of the anti-bullying brigade in the school and features a previously unseen silent classic from the age of moustachioed villains and swooning heroines.

The children at Blessed John Duckett school in Tow Law are confused by the strange behaviour of their Mams. They are leaping around the grounds doing aerobics and then they start digging the place up. All becomes clear as the Mams help the children put on a puppet show to tell the story of how they are planning to grow vegetables and get fit at the same time. The children decide their Mams are not crazy after all and join in. However, the children agree, some jobs, such as shovelling horse poo, are definitely for the grown-ups.

Tow Law Community Video History Project
Collaboration with Durham Dales PCT
The Tow Law Story is a Multi-group, community film looking at the experience of living in Tow Law; a small post-industrial town perched on top of a windy Pennine hill. We took a multi-generational approach and utilised local resources such as Beamish Open Air Museum to bring the history of the town to the present. This film draws on animation skills, puppets, live action dramatic reconstruction and interviews with all age groups in the town.
The opportunity to work with Teeny Tiny Films has been absolutely great. Having access to the fantastic local film making resource provides us with a dynamic facility to support us in our health development work. Sam Forsyth's support, in working not just for the community but within it, provides a valuable and sustainable legacy
